Overview
SatScream is a simple Bitcoin price alert app. We believe in your right to privacy, which is why we built this app to operate entirely on your device without collecting, storing, or transmitting any personal information.
We don't collect your data. We don't track you. We don't sell anything about you. SatScream is just a Bitcoin price tracker — nothing more.
Data We Do Not Collect
SatScream does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Financial information
- Contacts or camera data
- Crash reports or diagnostics sent to us
What the App Does
SatScream performs the following functions, all locally on your device:
- Fetches Bitcoin price data from public APIs (CoinGecko and Coinbase)
- Stores your alert targets, theme preference, and audio settings in local device storage
- Plays audio alerts when your price targets are reached
- Displays a home screen widget showing the current Bitcoin price
- Sends local notifications when price alerts are triggered
All preferences and settings are stored locally using Android SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.
Internet Access
SatScream requires internet access solely to fetch the current Bitcoin price from public APIs. Requests are made to:
- CoinGecko — api.coingecko.com
- Coinbase — api.coinbase.com
These are public, unauthenticated endpoints. No personal data is sent in these requests. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services.
Permissions Explained
SatScream requests the following Android permissions:
- INTERNET — Required to fetch Bitcoin price data from public APIs
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Required to send price alert notifications when your targets are hit
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE — Required to run the background price monitoring service
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — Required only if you choose to select a custom audio file for alerts
None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit personal data.
Children's Privacy
SatScream is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we collect no personal data from any user, this applies equally to all age groups.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of SatScream after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
